The latest iteration of Tower Porchfest was proof that Fresno shows up for the community, rain or shine, in spite of both this year and last year’s wet conditions.
On April 25, 2026, the festival marked its sixth consecutive year of the Tower Neighborhood Association inviting local artists to volunteer and showcase their talent. Neighborhood hosts between Fruit and Blackstone avenues and Shields and Belmont streets opened their porches and backyards for performances. Many local businesses in the Tower District area also hosted events in honor of the celebration.
One particular porch had the crowd spilling onto sidewalks and into the street. The Prickly Porch on North Thorne Avenue featured performances from Animal Style, Blend 27, Bay of Pygs, No Ambition and more. The lower Central Valley hardcore community continues to bring people together, with the rain becoming part of the experience.
Bay of Pygs bassist Vinvella Gonzales reflected on her third time performing at Porchfest.
“I was surprised to see our crowd so big, but it was super cool and there was lots of moshing. It was crazy,” Gonzales said.
Attendees especially enjoy this event because it’s entirely made up of community partners and volunteers. Gabriella Morales, a music lover who attends music events often, shared her passion for showing up and supporting the community.
“I love Porchfest because it really represents Fresno’s love for the arts and entertainment,” Morales said. “Fresno really knows what to do when it comes to serving and providing a sense of belonging to its people.”
This Fresno staple event will continue to highlight the talent of local artists and the heart of the neighborhood partners who make it happen.
